Texas Battles Over Civics Education

The battle for civics education has entered a new stage: “Action Civics” has made its way to the home front of Texas. This new initiative, originating from Illinois, encourages students to “take action” through protesting and lobbying. Without proper guardrails, Action Civics quickly deviates to using students as political pawns on the front lines of the culture war.
